
Bulletproof Matcha Tea
Our Bulletproof Matcha follows a similar recipe to the popular Bulletproof Coffee but with a less jittery makeover!
Also known as butter coffee or keto coffee, Bulletproof Coffee is a combination of coffee, grass-fed unsalted butter, and MCT (medium-chain triglycerides) oil. MCT oil is popular with bodybuilders and athletes as it can provide a quick source of energy and boost performance. But move over bulletproof coffee, here comes Bulletproof Matcha tea! 💪
Instead of coffee, the Bulletproof Matcha recipe uses My Matcha Life® Barista’s matcha. Even though coffee and matcha both contain caffeine, they affect our bodies differently. Unlike coffee, which can leave you feeling jittery and cause the dreaded caffeine crash, matcha tea contains L-theanine, which provides a mental and physical calmness, while giving you sustained energy throughout the day.
Another cool fact about matcha and caffeine is that the small caffeine molecule is attracted to matcha’s larger EGCG catechin molecule and binds to it, so the caffeine is absorbed more slowly and steadily into the bloodstream, making a Bulletproof Matcha tea a superior choice when it comes to getting through a full and busy day!
Ingredients
1/2 tsp Barista’s Premium Matcha*
1 tsp MCT oil **
1 tbsp grass-fed butter
4-5 oz. hot water
Directions
1. In the matcha bowl, add matcha and 1 oz hot water
2. Whisk the matcha (or use a spoon to make a thin paste)
3. Add grass-fed butter, continue whisking
4. Add MCT oil, continue whisking
5. Pour in the remaining hot water while whisking
