Drink Matcha, Eat Dark Chocolate – Research Suggests

Looking to boost your immune system naturally? Check out our recipe below!

Based on exciting new green tea studies regarding immunity and how it relates to Matcha’s EGCG catechin, we’ve created a simple, nutritious, smoothie recipe that you’ll want to drink every day!

Two green tea studies caught our attention this past year. The first study, from Front. Plant. Sci., 30 November 2020 states that Matcha green tea’s EGCG catechin is ‘highly effective’ at blocking a particular SARS enzyme, thus inhibiting its ability to replicate.

Their research also revealed that components in Dark Chocolate had an inhibitory effect as well, though not as much as Matcha’s EGCG catechin.

The second piece of exciting research showed that Zinc, an effective immune boosting nutrient, needs a carrier, called an Ionophore, to help it cross the cell membrane. Studies have proven Matcha’s EGCG catechin to be one of nature’s best Zinc Ionophores.

Matcha tea, matcha powder and blueberries all contain quercetin, a polyphenol known for its antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties.
